Focused Learning for Urban Thinkers and Active Citizens

A STADTGEIST seminar is a space for thinking, questioning, and connecting.

It’s more than just a presentation or a workshop—it’s a facilitated learning experience that explores urgent questions at the heart of today’s urban societies.

We create environments where judgment can be practiced, perspectives shared, and new understanding shaped – together.

Who It’s For

  • Lifelong learners and reflective travelers

  • Educators and educational institutions

  • Teams and civil society organizations

  • Anyone curious about cities and urban life

Seminars are available in English, German, or Dutch.

Seminar Formats

Our seminars are flexible and can be adapted to your group’s needs:

  • Mini-Seminars (1.5–2 hours) – Ideal for a compact, thematic deep dive

  • Half-Day Seminars (3–4 hours) – For groups wanting to explore and discuss a topic in more depth

  • Full-Day Learning Journeys – Can include city walks, guest speakers, or reflection sessions

  • Available in-person or online

Sample Topics & Themes

Each seminar is tailored, but here are examples of the themes we work with:

  • Urban Memory – How cities remember (and forget) history

  • Power & Public Space – Who owns the city? Who shapes it?

  • Migration & Belonging – Diversity, integration, and civic identity

  • Ideologies in the Urban Landscape – Architecture, monuments, and political symbols

  • Judgment & Citizenship – Practicing decision-making in complex times

  • Polarization & Dialogue – How to listen, reflect, and engage meaningfully

  • Utopia or Breakdown? – Imagining the future of democratic urban life

We also co-design seminars around educational, cultural, or organizational goals.
